Episode Outline
Hey guys, I'm sick tonight with the flu or scurvy or something, so if I'm not amusing during the recap, please forgive me. Of course, some of you may not find me amusing in general. If that's the case, then a pox on your houses!
Michael opens the show in a very harried and demanding matter. God, that's hot. Instead of trying to figure out ways to improve the situation, the rest of the group (Whistler, Lechero, T-Bag, Bellick and Mahone) are all moaning and recriminating about whether Michael's plan will succeed. Sheesh, I'd leave all those cry-babies behind.
Linc's visiting with Michael, asking about the status of the plan. Michael explains the need for a diversion to ensure they get past the guards and tells Linc that the whole damn posse is escaping along with him. Linc, to his credit, doesn't ask "why do you always feel like you have to break more than 2 people out of prison at any given time, Michael?!" This episode is full of odd close-ups of the actors' faces. It's freaking me out. Linc promises to take care of the guards.
Back in the tunnel, T-Bag and Bellick are whining again. You would honestly think that the two of them would be whining the least out of everyone in the group. Considering Michael busted T-Bag's ass out of prison successfully once before, and right under Bellick's nose to boot, they both know that Michael's 1-0 for prison breaks. SO THEY SHOULD SHUT UP. T-Bag laments to Whistler that Michael was somehow responsible for the death/capture/de-handing of the majority of the Fox River 8. Which is just ridiculous. Mahone's responsible for most of that, not Michael. The irony of the situation is that Mahone seems to be Michael's only understanding friend in this group. Oh yes, the irony.
We get a nice little montage of the boys working on the tunnel when we discover that the tunnel has sprung a leak. Michael looks worried and the boys race to see that a sinkhole has appeared in the middle of the yard and the rainwater is dripping through. This causes Michael to escalate his plan in a dramatic fashion by announcing "we leave tonight".
The rest of the boys are all complaining about the new timeline when Mahone shows that, once again, he is the only other sane person on the team by rallying the troops. The irony just keeps on coming.
Michael's managed to find time to take a stroll through the Sona courtyard when McGrady announces that he knows Michael's leaving, and he's pissed he's not coming with. Michael insists that a life on the run is worse than a life in prison but McGrady disagrees. I'm going with the kid here. I mean, sure, the whole fugitive thing didn't work out so well for LJ, Michael, Sucre, Linc, Sara, T-Bag, Tweener, Abruzzi and Haywire. But C-Note hit pay dirt.
Linc and Sucre are discussing a plan in the hotel room, complete with more close-ups. Sucre gets a text message from Susan. Dear lord, there are so many close-ups. It's unnatural. Linc's worried that Michael might get sanctimonious and refuse to break out Whistler.
Michael and Whistler are strategizing in a cell. Michael's somewhat keen on cutting the power in Sona to aid in their escape, but worries about the presence of the backup generator.
Michael's discussing the revised plan with Linc, who is not keen on the whole "escaping at night" plan, since Michael previously announced it was impossible. Michael needs his old buddy Sucre to help.
Susan meets Sucre in a bar and returns the explosive he planted in her car. So Susan no go boom? Damnit! Sucre stupidly voices the possibility that Michael might leave Whistler behind while Linc calls Susan to tell her the escape is happening tonight.
Sucre's on the phone, apologizing to Linc that Susan found the bomb. Linc tells him to get over to Sona to help out Michael.
Whistler asks Michael whether he would still be breaking out of Sona if the Company hadn't demanded it and LJ was safe. Michael plays the whole "I need to pay for my sins" card and replies that he would stay. Michael, sweetie, I'll tell you what I tell my mother when she starts playing the martyr: "get down off that cross, we need the wood" (FYI, that wasn't meant to be an anti-religious joke. I'm as Catholic as the next girl).
Back in the tunnel, T-Bag's back to his scheming ways, trying to create an alliance with Lechero. T-Bag would be awesome on Survivor. Let's have a Survivor: Prison Break edition. The boys hear a rumbling sound and we see a large truck about to drive over the sinkhole and the tunnel.
The truck stops just short of the sinkhole, getting stuck in the mud. Talk about your last-minute reprieves. Sofia, meanwhile, is removing cash from an ATM when she gets captured by a Company operative. Susan calls Linc and arranges a meeting.
Sucre arrives at Sona and calls Michael, who asks him how much he knows about electricity. How much do you have to know? Lights good. Darkness bad.
Back in the tunnel, Mahone is using syrup, honey and dirt to create a cover for the hole to use once they've escaped. Bellick tries to alliance himself with Mahone. Bellick's a lot more pathetic at the alliance attempts than T-Bag. Methinks Bellick would be the first one voted off the island.
Michael's instructing Sucre, over the phone, on how to shut off the backup generator. Sucre provides Michael the name and customer service number of the company that makes the generator. Sucre seems to have a stroke of brilliance and a plan to help Michael with those pesky jeep patrols that could foil the plan.
Linc meets up with Susan, who is sitting with Sofia.
Michael calls the company that makes the generator to find out how long it'll take to kick in. Whistler comments that Michael's a good liar. Oh, I'm sorry, Whistler, we're playing the "pot calls the kettle black" game, are we? Michael announces that it should be dark long enough for them to escape.
Linc calls to relay a message to Whistler from Susan. Susan burns Sofia, who screams, and then takes the phone. She asks Whistler if he's figured out the coordinates yet, but he hasn't. She tells him she expects them by day's end.
Whistler starts crying, while Michael tells him he can't just hand over the coordinates. T-Bag is spying from the doorway.
T-Bag asks Mahone what's so special about Whistler. T-Bag wonders whether Whistler can be used as a bargaining chip. Mahone tells T-Bag to shut the hell up.
Linc's mending up Sofia's burns, while Susan wonders whether Linc and Sofia have a little sumthin' sumthin' going on.
Whistler tells Michael that he's figured out the coordinates and wants to hand them over. Michael suggests they provide the wrong coordinates to buy some time, but Whistler doesn't agree.
Sucre's attempting to hang around the Sona jeeps in a nonchalant manner and messes with the engine when a guard leaves it alone. One of the other guards stops Sucre's exit.
Considering Michael's earlier urgency to leave tonight, he and Whistler seem to have a lot of time to hang out in the courtyard. Linc, Sofia and Susan have come to visit Michael and Whistler. Michael's doing some heavy duty Scofield staring at Susan. Whistler hands over only half of the coordinates to Susan and tells her that he'll give her the other half once Sofia, LJ and the brothers are ok.
Michael tells Linc that he needs to cut the power to Sona.
Michael approaches McGrady and tells him all about life on the run. He says something ridiculous about having to change your appearance, which neither Linc nor Michael ever did, but whatever. Michael tells McGrady he can come along if he wants, but he has to take care of himself. We're up to 7 Sona escapees. I'm just waiting for #8.
The boys are in the tunnel, waiting for the escape. Michael announces that they have 30 seconds to run before the generator kicks in. Are you telling me that there's nothing he could have done about the generator?
Linc's driving along a darkened road. Sucre is still hanging out with the guard. The guard announces that they ran Sucre's fake name and found a warrant for his arrest. No freaking way! So Sucre's on his way to Sona then? Wow, this episode is about close-ups AND irony. What are the odds that Sucre would pick the one name with an arrest warrant attached to it? I love it.
Michael's gathering the escapees while Linc's take a bus hostage (minus the passengers, who he orders off at knifepoint). Lechero and T-Bag are upset about McGrady and threaten Whistler.
Michael agrees to let Lechero and T-Bag escape first as Linc is quickly approaching Sona in the stolen bus.
You know, at a Superbowl party yesterday, my cousin Nick (brother-in-law of cousin Joe, for those of you who have been following my family stories) asked "honestly, how many freaking prisons can those guys on PB break out of?" While Nick has a point, I don't see HIM being smart enough to break out of prison, so I think he should keep his mouth shut.
Sucre hears the jeep he messed with making a terrible dying sound and, despite apparently being under arrest, he smiles.
Linc's bus quickly approaches the power lines and he jumps out right as it takes down the line. Our last close-up is of Michael's face saying "30 seconds. Go!"
Alright, let's see what cousin Joe has to say about the episode. I'm dialing.....He missed it! I even reminded him yesterday and he forgot about it. He's an idiot. On the other hand, my grandfather (who doesn't like Susan) liked the episode.
So it looks like we'll have an escape next week. See you back here then. Hopefully I'll be recovered enough from this (deathly) illness and in a much better mood. Later, guys!

Episode Quotes
Bellick: I'd like to know if this girl's gonna put out before I spend any more time buying her drinks!
Sofia: You ever wish you could go back in time, just to remember how it was when things made sense?
Lincoln: Every day for the last three years.
Michael: There's something else...
Lincoln: What?
Michael: T-Bag's coming. And Mahone. Bellick...oh yeah, there's a drug lord too.
Michael: We don't even know who Whistler is.
Lincoln: We know what he's worth! My son's life.
T-Bag: You know, we can work on this railroad all the live-long day, but it don't matter if Scofield doesn't know what happens when we get off the train!
Whistler: Once we get out of here, it's every man for himself.
Michael: The ground's not gonna hold until tomorrow.
Whistler: So what do we do?
Michael: We leave tonight.
Mahone: You're not pulling this off tonight without all of us working around the clock. And none of us are ever making it out of here without his [Michael's] plan. So if you tell me, that you can figure out a way how to do this tonight, then I...we...can figure out a way how to get that tunnel dug in time.
McGrady: I know you're leaving. And I think that after everything I've done for you...to help you...I think it sucks you're not taking me with you.
Michael: I know it doesn't seem like it now, but I'm doing you a favour. I'm giving you a gift.
McGrady: Wow, life in prison? Thank you, I've always wanted one of those.
Susan: Sucre, do you know what I do for a living?
Sucre: I have a pretty good idea.
Susan: I read people. And you, my friend, are a colouring book.
Whistler: If they didn't want me out of here, and your nephew was safe, would you still be doing this?
Michael: Breaking out? No.
Whistler: Why would you choose to stay, if there was a chance at freedom?
Michael: Well, I guess that's the difference between us....I'm willing to pay for my sins.
Whistler: And I'm not?
Michael: That's a good question.
Susan: Hello, Lincoln. Long time no see.
Lincoln: Not long enough.
Bellick: We should be a team. You know, not just during the escape, but after. Like...like...Butch and Sundance.
Mahone: Butch and Sundance died.
Bellick: Well, uh, I mean in the other parts.
Sucre: You really think you can pull this off tonight?
Michael: You wanna know the truth?
Susan: All your promises, your guarantees....they mean nothing. I'm getting pretty sick of waiting for you boys to screw me over.
T-Bag: You and me are alot more alike than you think, Alex. We both know how it feels to lose a great love. How it feels to kill a man. And we both ended up in here because of Michael Scofield. Wouldn't it be poetic justice if we could just....return the favour.
Mahone: Justice? If there was an ounce of it left in this world....you'd be lying face-down in the same unmarked grave as the rest of your inbred family.
T-Bag: The only difference between me and you, Alex, is a badge. And the last time I checked, you didn't even have that! So you can just keep on hoping for your happy endings, Alex....you can just keep ploughing ahead with them blinders on, you know....but the thing about them blinders is: makes it really hard to watch your back.
Lincoln: What is it about Whistler that's so important?
Susan: I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.
Lincoln: You're gonna do that anyway.
Susan: Whistler gives us what we want...maybe I won't have to.
Whistler: I just don't know what else to do. I'm damned if I do, damned if I don't. There's no way to win.
Michael: It's not about winning anymore, it's about surviving. Which is not the same as giving up.
Whistler: But you can go gracefully. There's honour. Protecting the ones you love.
Michael: Honour's a luxury men like us can't afford.
Michael: There's a lag from when the power cuts out to when the generator kicks back in.
T-Bag: Well, how long a lag are we talking about here?
Michael: Thirty seconds.
Lechero: You expect us to run in thirty seconds?
Michael: Soon as the lights go out, I'm gone. With or without you.
