Oh man, oh man, season finale......The anticipation is killing me. 7:58......come on, clock!.....7:59.....I wish I could control time, bend it to my will.....8:00, YES! Here we go.....
We pick up where we left off: Michael is debating whether to accept Mahone's trade. He keeps flashing back to various encounters with Linc, including his promise to break him out of Fox River. Some kid starts walking down the jetty, offering to sell Michael soda, beer, and magic mushrooms. Take the mushrooms, Michael! It'll make those complicated decisions in your life so much easier to make. The kid says he's Michael's "man" and if there's something Michael wants, he can get it. Michael tells the kid to leave and then just tries to ignore him. But this kid is an annoying telemarketer in training and just won't go away.
Michael's sat phone rings and he tells the kid to beat it. The boy walks away, looking very sad. I understand your pain, boy. I would be sad too if Michael Scofield sent me away. It's Mahone on the phone. Heh, that rhymes. Mahone asks if Michael's going to do the right thing and Michael wants to know "right for who?" Mahone tells Michael he's lost and Michael needs to bring the money and boat. Michael's doubtful Mahone will just let Linc go, especially since he killed Abruzzi, Tweener and Haywire. I miss those guys, they were great. Remember when the majority of the original cast was still alive? Good times.
Mahone says things are different and his bosses have sold him out. Now he just wants to escape. Mahone says they're both smarty-pants, so they should respect each other. That may be true, and I may be flayed alive by William Fincther fans in a matter of hours for saying this, but Michael is cuter than you, Mahone, so he's still got you beat. After some deliberation, Michael asks Mahone his location: a warehouse on the water outside Panama City. Michael says it'll take him 24 hours to get there. That's crazy. How did he practically walk to and from Panama City in the last episode if it takes that long? Sure, you have to follow the coast, but still. Methinks Michael's gonna come up with another plan.
Mahone says he's going to wait. Linc tells Mahone that if "they" catch him, they'll execute him. And Lincoln has some experience with the death penalty, Mahone, so you should listen to him. Mahone leaves a message for Bill Kim, telling him to call. I'm distracted by Lincoln in this episode, because his chest isn't as exposed as it normally is. It's almost like he finally figured out how buttons work. Plus, his shirt is tucked in. It's very odd. Dominic Purcell fans everywhere are suddenly crying for the resignation of the costumer on the show.
Kellerman is testifying at Sara's trial. He says that he's probably going to be killed for revealing some sensitive information. He gives a speech about how he wants to repent for the sins he's committed. Flash forward a bit and Kellerman is explaining how he set up Lincoln for Steadman's "murder". He also mentions The Company. The DA brings up a point I was just about to: what does all of this have to do with Sara helping Michael and the rest of the boys escape from prison and jumping bail? Kellerman reveals that Sara jumped bail because he was going to kill her. The DA looks put in her place.
Back in Panama, Michael is looking at the kid from before who tried to sell him the mushrooms. He runs after the kid, who's walking down the beach. The boy introduces himself as Chaco.
Back in the courtroom, a judge is saying that he has documents that backs up Kellerman's testimony. The judge asks if maybe the DA should go after bigger fish than Sara. The DA announces that she's dropping all charges and Sara looks relieved. I bet her first thought is "now I can finally do the deed with Michael". If it's not, the girl needs to sort out her priorities. The DA says that she's gonna need a new scapegoat, now that Sara's off the chopping block, so she's going to prosecute Kellerman. Sara looks shocked, while Kellerman looks resigned. He voluntarily lets the guards arrest him. Sara tells Kellerman "I literally don't know what to say to you" and he replies "It was good knowing you, Sara". Oh that Kellerman, he totally redeemed himself. I think I love him now.
Mahone's phone rings and it's Kim. Kim says that once Mahone's executed their plans, he's going to come down to Panama for "visual confirmation". Mahone tells Kim to pack his bags and head over to the airport, because it'll be over by the time he arrives.
Michael is sailing on the boat, leaving a message for Sara. He says he can "only assume the worst". He tells her he made it to Panama but it's so empty without her. Oh, Michael, you're breaking my heart, you look so sad. I can make you happy again! He also tells her that if, by some chance she's free, she needs to pay close attention. Leaving the poor girl another nearly impossible code to solve?
Back at the courthouse, where justice has been served in an impossibly quick fashion, Bruce, Governor Tancredi's old employee, says they're going to be hounded by press, so he and Sara should bail. A reporter is summarizing what happened: Reynolds has been implicated in faking Steadman's death. Then comes the big news: Lincoln has been exonerated! But what about Michael?
Sara is still at the courthouse and noticed that Michael left her a message. She calls her voicemail and tells Bruce that Michael "doesn't know [about Linc's exoneration], he's still planning on running." Sara tries to call Michael's phone, but he doesn't answer. He's working on the boat with Chaco. Sara tells Bruce that he's got to take her to the airport so she can deliver the good news to Michael that he doesn't have to run. But they didn't say Michael was exonerated! Did I miss it?
Kim is sitting in a limo with his boss (the former silent guy). He tells his boss that things are finally falling into place. The man shows Kim a note that reads "Sona?" But he can talk! What's with all the note writing? Kim says he's going down to Panama to take care of it himself. The guy writes another note "Just ONE is needed". Again, why the notes? Kim says "I assume we both know which one that is." His boss gives him a pointed look. Kim says he'll call his boss when he gets down there. For some reason the man grabs Kim as he's stepping out and stares at him. Yeah, it's a good stare, but it's not a Scofield stare, so I'm not sure exactly what it's supposed to convey. Perhaps "don't screw this up like so many before you have"?
Mahone is talking to Pam. They're discussing giving their marriage another shot. He suggests they go to Columbia. Linc is checking out his cuffs while Alex is on the phone. Pam says she can do 2 weeks in Columbia during the summer. Mahone is excited. Pam tells Mahone that "it can't be like it was before". Linc starts fiddling with the pipe he's cuffed to. Mahone tells Pam he wants her to be with him and then hangs up.
Sucre is in a hospital in Panama City, looking into a mirror. It's the mirror of flashbacks! He's remembering when he proposed to Maricruz. Sucre tells the doctor he's leaving. She tells him he's lost 30% of the blood in his system. That's ok, doctor. If he's anything like T-Bag he can survive a hand amputation and still keep ticking. Sucre is at a pay phone, dialing the operator. The poor guy can barely stand. Obviously his love is the only thing keeping him conscious and I kind of love him for it. He asks to be connected to the American Embassy. His wound is still bleeding. Sucre tells the Embassy he's looking for a friend who's either in the hospital or jail. The name? Brad Bellick.
Bellick is in jail. He's demanding a lawyer. No one cares. Then T-Bag is brought into the cell. Bellick starts yelling that T-Bag was the one who "killed that girl!" Bellick starts limping over to T-Bag. He asks where the money is and T-Bag says Michael has it. And then he says life just isn't fair. Why? Because the crazy pedophile should have ended up with the $5 million instead of the guy who gave up his life to save his brother? How would that be fair? T-Bag says he's "got an ace up his sleeve" but he's not telling Bellick.
Chaco is getting on a boat filled with gorgeous scantily-clad woman. He greets a man by the name of DeJesus. Right off the bat, seeing this guy's boat, I'm gonna guess he's some kind of drug lord. The two seem to know each other. Chaco introduces Michael as a guy with a lot of money. Chaco says he wants to do business, but DeJesus just wants to play with the scantily-clad women. Michael says they can make a deal but DeJesus doesn't want any of Michael's deal. DeJesus smacks Chaco, thinking Michael is a cop. Michael denies he's a cop and one of the henchmen points a gun at him. Michael tells them to check out his name online. He says his name could "mean $100,000". DeJesus looks interested.
Michael's using his patented stare on DeJesus and since no one can resist it, DeJesus signals for one of his men to look up the name. The man shows DeJesus he's found a wanted poster online showing that the reward for Michael is $100,000. DeJesus says "you just gave me 100,000 reasons to turn you in". Michael agrees and replies "I'll just have to give you a few more not to". Michael pulls out some money.
At the warehouse, Linc is telling Mahone he's innocent. Mahone agrees he probably is, but he doesn't care about anything except "getting his life back". Linc's still messing with his cuffs and the pipe. The two debate the merits of Mahone staying with Pam and whether Mahone's bad deeds will affect her.
In jail, Bellick is asking T-Bag how much of the money he already spent. The two start goading each other, saying how they want to kill one another. Then a guard opens the cell door. Bellick asks "so I'm free?" The guard cuffs him and walks him down the hall.
In Panama City, Sucre is stumbling and asking directions to "Relocada Station". He sees Bellick being dragged into a truck. He starts screaming for Bellick and flashing back to Maricruz. The man has tears in his eyes and I feel so bad for him. He's begging Bellick to tell him where Maricruz is and Bellick tells Sucre to "find a way to get me out of this!" Sucre falls to his knees and then to the ground. It looks like he passes out from the blood loss.
The Christina Rose has docked at the Mira Flores Shipping Docks in Panama City. Michael, the backpack slung over his shoulder, is jogging down the docks. Mahone spies the boat outside the window. Michael dumps the pack and walks into the building where Mahone and Linc are. Mahone greets Michael and is holding a gun on him. Mahone says he's not going to uncuff Linc yet and Michael wonders if Mahone's going to back out of his deal. Mahone searches Michael and finds no weapon. He asks where the money is, but Michael says that he's not going to tell him until he cuts Linc loose. Kim calls and Mahone says he's inside the warehouse. Kim says he'll be right by. Mahone calls the police. He tells them there's been a murder at the docks and "a well-dressed Asian man has been shot by two Americans". Wow, good plan, Mahone, kill three birds with one stone.
Michael realizes Mahone's plan. Michael says Mahone's plan is not going to work and he should let Linc go. Mahone starts screaming for the money. The two stare each other down. Kim enters the warehouse. Kim says the boys aren't "right where we wanted them". Mahone turns his gun on Kim. Kim realizes it's a double-cross. Kim reveals that he brought backup. Linc gets his cuff disconnected from the pipe and the clanking sound distracts everyone. Bullets start flying. Much ducking ensues. Linc punches out a henchman and grabs a gun. Mahone is trying to shoot his way out. Linc and Michael run from the warehouse. Run, Linc and Michael, RUN!
Mahone escapes the warehouse as well. Kim looks pissed. Michael grabs the backpack and Mahone starts untying the boat from the dock.
Kellerman is being transported. The guard is giving him orders, but Kellerman says he knows the drill. The engine light comes on in the transport van, which means they need to pull over. Kellerman is looking like he knows he's going to die. Two masked men open the door to the van and Kellerman says "it took you long enough". We see the men fire shoots into the van. Goodbye, Kellerman. It was a pleasure knowing you.
Mahone is asking directions from some guy who works on the dock. There's some cops surrounding the Christina Rose. The cop says he heard the boat has been used in illegal trafficking. Oh Michael, you diabolical fiend! You're gonna get Mahone locked up. The cops find drugs on board the boat. Guess I was right about DeJesus being into drugs. Mahone looks like he realizes Michael's out-smarted him and doesn't it just hurt.
Linc and Michael are walking through the jungle and Linc asks if Michael thinks they got Mahone. Michael thinks they did. Linc points out Michael's lost the boat but they got the money. Chaco meets up with Michael and Michael introduces Linc. The boys realize they need to leave and not look back now. Linc thanks Michael for everything he did. Chaco shows that he procured another boat for the boys. But damn, it's a step down from their last one. Actually, it's an entire flight of stairs down from their last one. Michael pays Chaco. Wait a second....Sara is on the boat! Michael looks shocked! They embrace.
Sara announces that Linc is free. Sara tells what Kellerman did. Linc is shocked. Sara says it means they don't have to run anymore. Linc asks what about Michael. Sara says Bruce is looking into it and it looks like Michael might end up free as well. Sara disappears inside the boat. Linc gets his cuffs off. Michael says it's finally over. Then Kim appears with a gun.
Linc offers Kim the money. Kim says it's not about the money. He throws the backpack into the water. Oh man, the money! They worked so hard to get it. People have died for that money. Michael says it's all over because Reynolds stepped down and Linc's been exonerated. Linc asks Kim to let Michael go. Kim doesn't care about family values. Kim gets shot suddenly and guess who did it? Sara. Michael says they need to leave.
The cops arrive as the three flee the scene. They run into the jungle. There's much running and chasing. And hiding behind other boats. Michael and Sara hide out in an abandoned cabin. The cops have surrounded the cabin. Sara is shocked that she killed someone. Michael asks Sara for the gun, and says they're going to walk out of there together. Sara starts crying and Michael tries to comfort her. He says they're going to explain everything and he'll stand by her. They embrace and exchange "I love yous". Oh boy, that was the moment all us 'shippers have been waiting for.
As he walks out, Michael pus the gun to Sara's head and says if anyone moves he'll kill her. Sara asks what he's doing. Then he offers himself up to the police and says that he killed Kim. Sara is screaming at the police, saying Michael did nothing wrong, but Michael keeps confessing. Michael, NO!!!!
Mahone calls Pam. He's crying. He tells her to forget about him. This scene breaks my heart, even if he is somewhat evil. He's dragged off by the police.
Linc stops a cop outside the station, saying he's looking for Sara. The woman replies that she gave a statement and then left. He spots Sara walking away. We see a man following Sara. Linc starts chasing after her, but loses sight. What happened to Sara?!
T-Bag is approached in jail, presumably by a Company man. The man says that T-Bag isn't getting out. T-Bag says he fulfilled his end of the bargain and now they need to let him go. The man says T-Bag got caught and walks away.
It's raining. Michael steps out of a transport van. Mahone exits out of another. Oh, the cruel irony! They're both in prison now. The guards let Michael into the prison and we see it's called Sona.
Another company man joins Kim's boss. The two of them are in a genetics lab in New Jersey. The man says Scofield has been captured. We see shots of Michael walking through the prison. It looks like we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto. Sona is a far cry from Fox Fiver. Heck, Fox River looks like the Hilton compared to this place. The man tells Kim's boss that Scofield is just gonna break out because "it's in his blood". The boss says "that's exactly what we want him to do".
Michael encounters more beefy prisoners along the cell block. He even sees Bellick lying on the ground, beaten. I think Bellick's going to start regretting all those times he was mean to Michael back in Fox River. Especially when he starts begging Michael to help him escape. Then Michael walks outside again. Where's he going? Where are you taking him, you bastards?!
The anticipation is killing me even more than it was at 7:58. What about Maricruz and Sucre? What about Sara? What about Mahone? What about Linc? What about Michael? Why do I have to wait months and months before I know the answers? WHY?!

Episode Quotes
Mahone:You're my way to freedom, Michael, and I'm yours.
Lincoln: How does it feel to be on the run?
Mahone: I'll survive.
Lincoln: Not if they catch ya. They'll send you to the chair.
Mahone: You think that's ironic?
Lincoln: That'd be justice.
District Attorney: I fail to see how any of this relates to Sara Tancredi and the fact that she aided and abetted, that she jumped bail...
Kellerman: She did so because she feared for her life. Which was appropriate, as I had orders to kill her.
Michael: Sara, it's me. It's a strange thing, leaving a message for someone you know is never going to get it. I can only assume the worst, so....this'll be the last message I leave for you. I just want you to know that I made it. But it's no good without you.
Reporter: The fallout from all of this.....the reported killer, Lincoln Burrows, who has led the country on a nationwide manhunt, will be exonerated of all charges, effective immediately.
Bellick: Where's the money?
T-Bag: Pretty boy's got it. Here's out there with a royal flush and you're in here with a busted straight. That hardly seems right, does it?
Bellick: Your hand don't look much better.
T-Bag: Maybe I got an ace up my sleeve.
DeJesus: You just gave me 100,000 reasons to turn you in.
Michael: That's true. I guess I'll just have to give you a few more not to.
Lincoln: Your wife know who you really are?
Mahone: You know how it is. Good men doing bad things because of circumstance.
Sucre: Bellick!.....Where's Maricruz?!.....
Bellick: If you wanna know where she is, find a way to get me out of this!
Mahone: Michael, that's a beautiful boat.
Michael: Just promise me that you'll change the name when you take it. I don't think my mother would have approved of you.
Mahone: Consider it done.
Mahone: (to cops searching his boat} You can't just....
First Police Officer: Hey, this is Panama, friend. Get acquainted with the law.
Second Police Officer: (Showing that cocaine has been found on the boat) Coca.
First Police Officer: Yes, I definitely think you need to get acquainted with it.
Lincoln: I want to thank you, Michael, for everything.
Lincoln: (to Kim) This started with me, let my brother go.
Kim: Awe, that's sweet. That's sweet. You don't hear that much, anymore. That sort of fidelity, in families. Two brothers that will go to the ends of the earth for each other.
Michael: (to Sara) You sacrificed everything for me, once. Now it's time to say thank you.
