S02E15

Episode Outline

Michael, Lincoln and Kellerman are still reeling from shock minutes after Steadman’s suicide when the police and press arrive outside their motel room. Kellerman says that he is an FBI agent and that Michael and Lincoln are in his custody, but soon they take over the situation when Kellerman puts a gun to the cameraman’s head and Michael demands the car keys from the media. Kellerman, Linc and Michael get away but have taken the camera man with them.

Agent Mahone returns to his office for the first time since he got shot by Kellerman, and is not pleased with the fact that they are no closer to Scofield or Burrows.

Michael, Kellerman and Lincoln are driving around with an unknown destination. A statement by the touring President seems to give Michael an idea as he tells Lincoln to pull over.

Bellick wakes up in the infirmary with a severely beaten up face and finds Trumpets right next to him. Trumpets doesn’t seem to believe his luck as he starts taunting Bellick who is starting to look extremely scared.

Kellerman, Michael and Lincoln are having a heavy discussion and the cameraman has been placed at a distance and is watching them with the camera in his lap. They then walk towards him and Michael says, “450 miles in 6 hours, what do you think?” Kellerman grabs a large grey blanket and throws it to Michael who says that it is perfect whilst looking at the cameraman, who now seems to be petrified.

Sucre is traveling through Mexico to Ixtapa on his way to see Maricruz when he meets a friendly old man and chats with him during the long bus ride.

Haywire is sifting through a dumpster when two teenagers approach him and ask him to buy them some beer, to which he says yes.

The cameraman walks back into the studio, with a baffled expression on his face and a slight smile. He hands over a tape to his boss, “you’re going to want to see this.”

Mahone is called to the television by a colleague and is stunned to see Lincoln and Michael on Fox News. Kim is fuming and starts yelling at his workers to bury the tape and make up anything to take its place.

Sucre’s smile is wiped off his face when he is forced off the bus because he has no money to pay to go any further. Sucre’s new friend has obviously taken a shine to him and offers him a room for the night in exchange for a cooked meal and some company.  Sucre catches sight of his car and quickly agrees.

Michael and Lincoln’s tape is still running, and Mahone is still watching when Michael reveals all about Mahone’s dirty little secret. His agents don’t seem surprised by this revelation, but are more concerned about Mahone’s reaction.

Haywire got the beer for the teenagers, and he confides in Sascha and tells her about his Holland plan. Haywire invites Sascha to come see his raft and she seems skeptical about his plan. But as she sees how excited Haywire is, Sascha is encouraging and wishes him luck. Haywire sees bruises on her arm as she reaches for another beer, and Sascha tells him that her father abuses her. Haywire gets too clingy and scares Sascha, who immediately asks Matt to take her home.

A beaten up Bellick gazes out of the window from where the Fox River 8 escaped from, and how his life ended the minute they went over that wall. Nurse Katie comes in to see Bellick and tells him that he is ready to go back to Gen pop. Bellick is desperate to not go back and even attempts to flirt with Katie so that he doesn’t have to go back but it doesn’t work. Katie is about to give in to one more night in the infirmary but then Bellick insults her by trying unsuccessfully to a pull a Scofield.

The cameraman is being interrogated by the FBI about any extra information he may have about Michael and Lincoln and he reveals that Michael said something about 450 miles in 6 hours, but he is unaware of the location. Mahone is trying to figure out where they could be heading and seems annoyed that Wheeler isn’t giving him any breathing space. Kim isn’t giving Mahone any breathing space either when he calls and demands a location, but Mahone can’t give him one yet. However, when Mahone reels off a list of possible locations, one of them catches Kim’s attention. The President is speaking at Denver in 6 hours.

Lincoln is angered when their ‘message’ was buried by new fake news that ‘The Company’ immediately came up with. Michael is more optimistic by the fact that it’s out there, and they can’t take it back. Michael, Linc and Kellerman start discussing about what they will do when they get “her”.

Wheeler and another agent try to persuade Mahone to get the President to cancel her plans but Mahone isn’t backing down and things get a little tense between him and his agents when Wheeler tells him that Internal Affairs now want Wheeler to report all of Mahone’s moves and plans to them first. But that still doesn’t shake Mahone as he stands firm. The President’s day does not change. Mahone starts getting suspicious about the tape because he knows that Kellerman is with them, therefore not all would be as it seems.

Kim tries to reassure his boss, Padman, and get him to include Caroline in the plan to get Kellerman. But Padman still does not speak.

Sucre enjoys a meal with his new friend and has a heart to heart conversation. When the old man retires to his bed, Sucre seizes this opportunity and takes his car.

Mahone and his team are analyzing the video tape of Michael and Lincoln, trying to look for clues as to where they might be. They start to get technical and examine Michael and Lincoln’s eye movements and body language, but Mahone realizes that they’re wasting their time. We find out that Mahone has hit the nail on the head when a flashback shows Kellerman coaching Michael and Lincoln on the body language to fool the FBI. Michael throws in a little fake Morse code message, “the water is warm” but Mahone isn’t fooled. He knows that they didn’t produce the tape in an attempt to prove their innocence, and is stumped to as why they would waste time doing it.

Sara is in Kansas City, Missouri, sitting in a library replaying the message. She knows that there is something in there for her, and a phrase catches her attention and she pulls out her AA book. Unfortunately, Mahone realizes at the same time that it’s a message to Sara and demands every piece of information they have on her.

Sucre’s luck runs out as the police catch him. They take him back to the old man who gives Sucre another chance to be with Maricruz as he lets him off and even gives him some money.

Agent Lang starts giving Wheeler information about Sara and Mahone walks by and without a word, takes the file from her and leaves, ignoring Wheeler asking about where he was going.

Lincoln pulls out a newspaper and sees that the Company has succeeded in burying their story and pretending that Steadman’s body was of a janitor’s murdered by them and he is angered. Michael and Kellerman are calmer and are just concentrating on waiting for Sara’s arrival. Michael and Lincoln talk privately and Lincoln voices his concern about Kellerman’s intentions.

Matt walks Sascha home and are unaware of the fact that Haywire has followed them. Sascha walks in and ignores her father until he grabs hold of her and struggles with him. Her father grabs a poker and starts to go after her but Haywire is right behind him and starts beating him to a pulp.

Mahone is at Fox River and talks a little to Katie about Sara but doesn’t find out anything specific. When she can’t answer him about the transcript, Mahone asks for Bellick. He interrogates Bellick for a while and Bellick lets him know that he knows something else about the transcript but isn’t about to let it go for nothing. He wants protection and Mahone consents and Bellick tells him about the AA book and that some of the phrases in Michael’s message to Sara is some of the chapters in the book. Mahone gets a copy of the book and finds out that they plan to meet Sara at St. Thomas Hospital, Akron, Ohio at 1 am. And Michael and Lincoln are there. Lincoln is being pessimistic about Sara but Michael won’t give up, and the name “Michael Crane” catches his attention and he runs into the hospital. There is a phone call for him. Sara. Mahone is also on the phone trying to get police over to the hospital immediately.

Sara lets Michael know that she wanted to go back to him in Gila, but something happened. Michael and Sara let each other know that they want to be together again, and for all this to be over.

Meanwhile, Kellerman and Lincoln are waiting outside the hospital and Kellerman gets the phone call. From President Reynolds. He turns to hide the fact that he is on the phone from Lincoln, and is cold towards Caroline after being rejected by her. Caroline starts to sweet talk him but Kellerman isn’t falling for that again, or is he? Michael, Lincoln and Kellerman get into the car and Michael says that it should all be over soon, and Kellerman’s reply of “absolutely” isn’t very comforting for us.
